This week West Chicago Police Department’s Explorers tackled a new lesson…radio communications. They learned about police radios and all their different functions. They practiced their phonetic alphabet and radio speak. And then they got to try it all out with an actual radio.
They showed much respect and professionalism which means now when you see the Explorers at the different events, they will be equipped with radios. This will allow them to communicate quickly with each other and officers working the event. It’s a big responsibility but these young men and women are up for the task.
WCPD is always accepting new Explorers so if you know of someone interested, reach out to Officer Arms at RArms@westchicago.org.
In other police news, the WCPD is seeking crossing guards, check The West Chicago Voice’s help wanted classified ads for more information.
