Coroner’s Office Identifies Man Shot and Killed By Carol Stream Police

In a statement furnished by the Carol Stream Police, they stated, “The family of the deceased individual has been notified, and the Carol Stream Police Department has been in contact with a representative of the family to extend their condolences.”

The DuPage County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of the man shot and killed by Carol Stream Police as Isaac Goodlow III. He has only been disclosed as a “Chicagoland area resident “ making it unclear if he lived at the apartment involved in the incident.

Carol Stream Police disclosed that two officer’s discharged their weapons during the call for service which allegedly was received as a domestic violence call for service.

Following department protocol, the officers involved in the incident have been put on paid leave as the Integrity Team of the DuPage Metropolitan Emergency Response Investigations Team (MERIT) conducts a thorough investigation.

In an update shared on Facebook over the weekend, the department reassured the public of their commitment to transparency by engaging an independent party for the investigation. All officers’ Body Worn Cameras were activated during the incident and will play a crucial role in the inquiry.

The victim’s brother, Michael Pigram, expressed confusion over the circumstances surrounding the event, stating that they received a distressing call and rushed to the scene, only to be met with silence when seeking answers. He told WGN News, “We don’t know why, we just got the call and rushed to the scene. We asked plenty of questions and got no response,”

Authorities have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, with updates to be provided as new details emerge.
