In the early hours of September 13, 2024, at approximately 5:25 a.m., West Chicago police responded to a report of a man found on the side of Roosevelt Road (IL Route 38), just west of Joliet Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered the man suffering from severe burns to his lower body. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. His condition is currently unknown.
Authorities secured the area, with lane closures in effect as officers processed the scene. Normal traffic flow resumed around 9:50 a.m. Details about how the man sustained the injuries are still unclear, and the incident remains under active investigation.
