The team at We Grow Greenhouse & Garden Center recently completed their fall planting in the historic downtown district, adding vibrant seasonal color to the area. While mums have been selling quickly, there’s still a splash of fall hues to be found at the greenhouse, with plenty of time left in the season for a fresh planting before the weather turns colder.
With the season winding down, the greenhouse team has begun clearing off benches and preparing for the end of their busy growing year. This week, they had the bittersweet task of composting some of the early-season blooming varieties that had started to look tired. “We don’t want to compost any more plants if we can help it!” said a team member. To avoid this, all remaining mums in every size are now half off their listed price. This includes the popular Warm Igloo, Sunny Igloo, and Pumpkin Igloo varieties, which are hardy in the local zone and will return next year if planted soon.
In addition to mums, We Grow Greenhouse still has a selection of ornamental plants and craft items available for sale. Tomorrow, on October 12th, they’ll be in downtown Naperville on Water Street, across from Hotel Indigo, for another plant sale at their usual spot. Shoppers are invited to stop by, pick out beautiful mums or craft items, and chat with the dedicated team members who make their seasonal displays possible.
“We are so grateful to the local restaurants, businesses, and directors for hosting us and supporting our mission,” the team shared. “We appreciate the community’s enthusiasm and can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow.”
