Alice S. Besch, Batavia, IL, formerly of Winfield, IL passed away on February 23, 2025. She was born February 13, 1928 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Her family moved to Chicago a year later where she was raised and then moved to Winfield, IL, where her parents bought a Ma & Pa store, her father being a butcher by trade. There she met her husband of 64 years, Harold “Bingo” Besch.
In earlier years, Alice worked full-time at Sears Tower in the accounting department later Sears catalog in West Chicago, IL and Winfield Flower Shop part-time. She loved gardening, cooking, crocheting, music and bowling. She was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks. She loved Scrabble and cards and all kinds of puzzles. She loved traveling to Canada, California, and Florida to visit family, camping in Illinois, and fishing and swimming in Spooner, WI. Her husband served in post-WWII Germany and they visited there.
With Bingo’s failing health, they moved to Covenant Living at the Holmstad in Batavia, IL in 2004, where they enjoyed excellent care, activities, food. and friends.
She is survived by children Harold “Bing” Besch, Patricia (Thomas) Huff, and Nancy (Robert) Borsodi, grandchildren Rachel (Chris) Ciszek, Kristin (Scott) Mann, and great-grandchildren Makenzie, Khloe, and Klein. She was preceded in death by husband Harold “Bingo” Besch in 2015, parents Stephen and Anna Revak, and brother Wallace Revak.
Services will be held privately.
