After much reflection, I’ve made the difficult decision to close The West Chicago Voice, effective immediately. While I had originally planned to continue publishing through the end of the calendar year, circumstances have changed, and I’m unable to continue.
Since its founding, the Voice has become more than a local news outlet—it’s been a true labor of love. Together, we built something remarkable: a trusted, independent source of hometown news that connected neighbors, celebrated community spirit, and gave West Chicago a voice of its own.
From covering city hall and local elections to sharing stories of our schools, small businesses, and volunteers, it has been my privilege to serve this community. Every article, every interview, every conversation reaffirmed what makes West Chicago so special—the people.
To our loyal readers, advertisers, contributors, and community partners: thank you for your support, encouragement, and belief in the mission of local journalism. The success of the Voice belongs to all of you.
Though this chapter closes sooner than I had hoped, I will forever be grateful for the experience, the friendships, and the trust you placed in me and in the publication. The West Chicago Voice may be signing off, but the spirit of connection and transparency it helped foster will live on.
