Today’s Food Fest in downtown West Chicago was a huge success. Over 20 vendors assembled to serve up such gastronomic delights such as Coconut Shrimp, Steak Tacos, Burgers, Pizza, Empanadas, Sausage, Italian Beef, Hot Dogs, and such sweet treats such as churros, snow cones, cotton candy, and fruit flavored pierogis just to mention a few. Galena Street provided the backdrop for the stage and eating area, Main street was lined with food trucks, tents and mobile kitchens. The variety was wonderful and it was evident a lot of thought went into planning out the event.

The turnout was awesome, crowds were shoulder to shoulder enjoying tasty eats and live musical entertainment. A stilt walker entertained festival goers while a face painter, glitter tattoo artist, balloon sculptor and caricature artist used their talents to bring cheer to guests. Kudos to the event organizers, BIG THUMBS UP to all!
Our family indulged in Gangster Fries and Cheese Fries from Culinary Gangster, Steak Tacos from The Taco Shop, Pink Vanilla Cotton Candy from Poupe Puff and Cheese Pizza from Billy Brick’s Pizza.
Everything was delicious.
