On September 21, 2023 at 8:05pm, West Chicago Police Officers were dispatched to the Union Pacific Railroad tracks at Illinois Route 59 for a pedestrian who had been struck by a passing freight train. The victim was transported to an area hospital where they succumbed to their injuries and passed away. The name of the deceased is currently being withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
Union Pacific Railroad is working with our department as WCPD continue to investigate the incident
