ABC Television hosted a contest between four American family’s Halloween Displays and Home Haunts last night and the breakout winner was West Chicago own’s Lehman Manor. The host of the show, Carter Oosterhouse presented the family with their win last night live. The family not only won the title, they also won $50,000 in prize money.
The McCabe Family worked so hard on their home haunt that the win is definitely deserved!
Lehman Manor was the brainchild of the seventeen-year-old son in the family but has been awesomely supported by his other family members faithfully with parents, Rachel and Dean promoting the event on social media and assisting in the construction of the horror attraction.
Located at 2760 Lehman Drive, West Chicago, the hours of tours are in the graphic below (courtesy of Lehman Manor) There is no cost but they do accept donations. There are times that are less scary for little kiddos (see the schedule below).
With an immersive walk-through experience and live scare actors bringing nightmares to life, this haunted house is not for the faint of heart. The haunt features more than 150 cutting-edge animatronics and it was meticulously designed to ignite fear for participants. The 11 unique sections, each with a theme from scary clowns to the “dark” angel were all completely hand-designed and created. Visitors will engage with scare actors, as zombies, view spine-tingling displays and so many surprises at every turn.

The Highschool boys varsity soccer team just won a regional championship! Can you write about it! These boys work so hard.
They deserve the accolades.
we did present a photo as a “blurb” We’re covering the game on Wednesday and will have an additional story. Unfortunately when I contacted the coach at the beginning of the season because I wanted to do more stories like an athlete-of-the-week or other stories for the newspaper, and asked the head coach for suggestions, and asked if he could periodically send me updates, I understand he’s busy too- so he told me basically to refer to the website for any information I needed and didn’t send me back answers to any of my questions or story ideas. If anyone would like to press him on that, it would be appreciated. The only information they provide on the West Chicago athletics website is date, time and location of games, no highlights, we follow them on social media but that is very limited and because of algorithims, much can be missed. etc. We’re looking for volunteers to help us to cover local events such as these as we can’t be in all places at once.
