Dupage County Board Member (West Chicago’s district 6 representative ) Greg Schwarze recently shared this information to his constituents:
Shoveling snow kills over 100 people every year. Heavy, wet snow is often called “heart attack snow,” because the great effort required to move it can increase your risk of having a heart attack. Repeatedly lifting a shovel full of heavy snow can be more strenuous than running on a treadmill. Know the signs of a heart attack. Always let a loved one know you are out shoveling and have that person check on you repeatedly.
