Joseph Vincent Loconsole, age 71, a longtime resident of Carol Stream, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, June 7, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 15, 1953, in Chicago to Joseph and Catherine Loconsole.
Joe grew up in Oak Park and graduated from Oak Park-River Forest High School. He embarked on a long and successful career as a salesman, eventually finding his niche in the automotive field. In 1980, he met Susan DeGraff, and they were married on August 15, 1980. Together, they raised two sons in Carol Stream.
Joe had a passion for life that was reflected in his many hobbies. He enjoyed fishing, carpentry, cooking, and, most of all, spending time with his family. A car enthusiast and movie buff, he also found joy in visiting the shooting range.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Susan Loconsole; his sons, Joseph A. Loconsole and Nicholas (Ashley) Loconsole; and the apple of his eye, his granddaughter, Harper Loconsole. He is also survived by his siblings, John Loconsole, Kathy (Dave) Jakopac, Maureen (John) O’Malley, James (Mary) Loconsole, Patricia Loconsole, and George Loconsole; his sister-in-law, Maripat Macchione; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Coal.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael.
