Rose J. Klauba, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2024, at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Illinois, at the age of 76. Born on September 20, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, Rose lived a life marked by devotion to her faith, her family, and her community.
Rose’s early years in Chicago laid the foundation for a life characterized by kindness and service. She carried these values with her as she pursued her education, graduating from Mother McAuley High School, and earning a bachelor’s degree from National Louis University. Her professional journey included valued contributions with a variety of employers, notably, as an employee at Jenner and Block Law Firm, where she was known for her dedication, work ethic, and mentorship to others who worked and interned there.
A devout Catholic, Rose’s faith was central to her life. She expressed her spirituality through her love of music, often lifting the spirits of others with her singing. Rose’s passion for life was also evident in her love of dancing, coffee, making floral arrangements, and skiing, which she pursued with the same enthusiasm she brought to all her endeavors.
Rose’s spirit of giving extended beyond her personal interests as she became an avid volunteer for various organizations. Her selfless nature and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on the community and served as an inspiration to all who knew her.
Rose worked hard balancing work and family. She was the loving mother of Vincent (April Pinkett) Aumann and Rebecca (Rich) Aumann Dix. She cherished her role as a proud grandmother to Alexander, Cameron, Michaelene, Julius, and Sydney instilling in them the values of kindness and generosity that she embodied.
Rose was the beloved daughter of the late Rose and Constantine Klauba, a testament to the loving family that shaped her. She was a dear sister to Bennet (the late Marlene) Klauba, Constance Klauba, and the late Judith Benshoof. Her warmth and compassion extended to her role as a fond aunt and a friend to many, touching lives with her gentle presence.
Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, yet her legacy of love and kindness will continue to resonate. Rose’s life was a tapestry of meaningful relationships and selfless acts, woven together by her enduring spirit.

Visitation for Rose J. Klauba will be held on Monday, September 9th, from 3 PM to 8 PM at DuPage Funeral Chapel, 951 W. Washington St., West Chicago, Illinois. A Funeral Mass celebrating her life will take place on Tuesday, September 10th, at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church in West Chicago, following a 9:45 AM departure from the funeral home. Interment will be private, allowing her family to honor her memory in a personal and reflective manner.
