The West Chicago Fire Protection District will host a special ceremony on January 10 at Station 6, located at 200 Fremont Street, to honor three significant milestones within the department.
The event will celebrate the retirement of Fire Chief Patrick Tanner, who is stepping down after an incredible 40 years of dedicated service to the community. Known for his leadership and unwavering commitment, Chief Tanner has been a cornerstone of the department, earning the respect and gratitude of his colleagues and the residents of West Chicago.
During the ceremony, Jeffrey Keefe will be sworn in as the district’s new Fire Chief. Keefe brings years of experience and expertise to the role, and the department looks forward to his leadership as they continue their mission to serve and protect.
The celebration will also recognize firefighter Jacob Rainey for completing his probationary period. This achievement marks a significant milestone in Rainey’s firefighting career, symbolizing his dedication and readiness to serve the community.
