For Improvement of Nuclear Drive & Northwest Avenue
The City of West Chicago (City) will hold a Public
Information Meeting concerning the proposed
improvement of Nuclear Drive between Harvester
Road and Dead-end and Northwest Avenue between
Nuclear Drive and Dead-end. The public information
meeting will be held at the West Chicago Water Treat-
ment Plant, 1400 W Hawthorne Lane, West Chicago, IL
60185 on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, from 2:00 PM to
4:00 PM. All persons interested in this project are
invited to attend this meeting. Persons with a disabil-
ity desiring to participate in this activity should
contact the person listed in this Notice by January 31,
2025, to make necessary arrangements for participat-
ing. The contact may be by telephone, in writing by e-
mail, or by telecommunications device for the deaf
(TTY).
This is an Economic Development Program (EDP)
grant-funded project. The Public Information Meeting
is being held in compliance with the Illinois Depart-
ment of Transportation’s public involvement policy.
The meeting will be conducted on an informal basis.
Representatives of the City will be available from 2:00
PM to 4:00 PM. Representatives will answer individual
questions and record comments offered by those in
attendance. Verbatim comments will not be recorded.
The City representatives will also address topics such
as the need for the project, the proposed design,
including traffic patterns and access, and the tentative
construction schedule. Preliminary reports and engi-
neering analysis with drawings, maps, and aerial
photography, will be available for inspection and view-
ing during the entire time of the public meeting.
