Volunteers from Duly Health and Care joined forces with the DuPage Senior Citizens Council (DSCC) on Saturday, April 26, to bring handmade crafts and heartwarming messages to homebound seniors throughout DuPage County. The initiative was part of DSCC’s annual Week of Service and marked Duly’s continued commitment to supporting older adults in the community.
Employees from Duly, along with their families, gathered at the DSCC headquarters to assemble care bags filled with handmade crafts. The creations were then distributed to seniors who receive DSCC’s home-delivered meals. The effort was designed not only to provide tangible items but also to send a message of compassion and connection to seniors who may feel isolated.
“It means a lot to DSCC when we can partner with organizations like Duly,” said Frank Leong, DSCC Volunteer Services Coordinator. “The seniors who receive the bags they created will have their days brightened not only at the fun artwork but at the knowledge that there are people in the community who are thinking of them and ensuring their physical and mental well-being.”
This year marked Duly’s third consecutive participation in DSCC’s Week of Service, a tradition that began five years ago. In both 2023 and 2024, Duly volunteers also delivered meals to seniors in celebration of Volunteer Appreciation Week, which ran this year from April 20 to April 26.
DSCC relies on more than 1,800 volunteers to fulfill its mission of helping seniors live with dignity. In addition to individuals, DSCC welcomes group participation from businesses and organizations. Volunteer opportunities range from delivering meals to assisting with wellness checks, yard clean-ups, and more.

Voluntarios de Duly Health & Care Llevan Alegría a los Adultos Mayores de DuPage Durante la Semana de Servicio
El sábado 26 de abril, voluntarios de Duly Health and Care se unieron al DuPage Senior Citizens Council (DSCC) para brindar manualidades hechas a mano y mensajes alentadores a adultos mayores confinados en sus hogares en todo el condado de DuPage. Esta iniciativa fue parte de la Semana de Servicio anual del DSCC y marcó la continuación del compromiso de Duly con el apoyo a los adultos mayores de la comunidad.
Empleados de Duly, junto con sus familias, se reunieron en la sede del DSCC para preparar bolsas con manualidades hechas a mano. Estas creaciones fueron entregadas posteriormente a los adultos mayores que reciben comidas a domicilio del DSCC. El objetivo era no solo ofrecer artículos tangibles, sino también enviar un mensaje de compasión y conexión a quienes podrían sentirse aislados.
“Significa mucho para DSCC poder colaborar con organizaciones como Duly”, expresó Frank Leong, Coordinador de Servicios para Voluntarios del DSCC. “Los adultos mayores que reciben estas bolsas tendrán un día más alegre, no solo por las divertidas manualidades, sino también por saber que hay personas en la comunidad que piensan en ellos y se preocupan por su bienestar físico y mental”.
Este año marcó la tercera participación consecutiva de Duly en la Semana de Servicio del DSCC, una tradición que comenzó hace cinco años. En 2023 y 2024, los voluntarios de Duly también entregaron comidas a adultos mayores como parte de la celebración de la Semana de Apreciación del Voluntariado, que este año se llevó a cabo del 20 al 26 de abril.
DSCC depende de más de 1,800 voluntarios para cumplir con su misión de ayudar a los adultos mayores a vivir con dignidad. Además de voluntarios individuales, el DSCC da la bienvenida a la participación de empresas y organizaciones.
