The City of West Chicago is inviting residents and art lovers alike to come celebrate the official dedication of the new downtown murals that now brighten the heart of the city. As part of the West Chicago Art Trail initiative, the community is encouraged to attend a special event on Thursday, May 29th, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Gallery 200, located at 103 W Washington St.
The event includes a public Meet and Greet with the featured artist, Gio Arellano, whose vivid and meaningful mural work has transformed several key downtown locations. Arellano’s pieces, installed late last year, are now being officially recognized as part of a growing effort to enrich West Chicago’s cultural and visual landscape.
Hosted by the City of West Chicago and its Cultural Arts Commission, the dedication aims to shine a spotlight on public art and the talented creators behind it. Refreshments will be provided, and all are welcome.
In an invitation extended to West Chicago Voice, the City asked that the news be shared widely to ensure residents have the chance to come together and celebrate these “incredible pieces of art and the artist.” The exhibit will remain on view at Gallery 200 through the end of the month.

La Ciudad de West Chicago invita a los residentes y amantes del arte a celebrar la dedicación oficial de los nuevos murales del centro que ahora embellecen el corazón de la ciudad. Como parte de la iniciativa West Chicago Art Trail, se alienta a la comunidad a asistir a un evento especial el jueves 29 de mayo, de 4:00 p. m. a 6:00 p. m., en la Galería 200, ubicada en 103 W Washington St.
El evento incluirá un Encuentro con el Artista destacado, Gio Arellano, cuyas obras vívidas y significativas han transformado varios puntos clave del centro de la ciudad. Las piezas de Arellano, instaladas a fines del año pasado, ahora recibirán un reconocimiento oficial como parte del esfuerzo continuo por enriquecer el paisaje cultural y visual de West Chicago.
