The West Chicago Plan Commission will host a public hearing on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall to consider a potential change to city ordinance that would allow residents to keep backyard chickens.
The meeting will include a discussion and formal recommendation by the Plan Commission regarding the proposed ordinance revision. During the public hearing, residents will have the opportunity to share their opinions, questions, and concerns about whether backyard chickens should be permitted within city limits.
Community members are strongly encouraged to attend and participate in the public comment portion of the meeting to help commissioners better understand public sentiment on the matter. The outcome of the commission’s recommendation may influence future City Council consideration of the ordinance.

Audiencia Pública el 3 de Junio Sobre Gallinas en los Patios Traseros en West Chicago
La Comisión de Planificación de West Chicago llevará a cabo una audiencia pública el martes 3 de junio de 2025 a las 7:00 p.m. en el Ayuntamiento, para considerar un posible cambio a la ordenanza municipal que permitiría a los residentes tener gallinas en sus patios traseros.
