Last year I met with the chief and police and the Sgt in charge of traffic about the semi trucks that travel on Joliet street between Rt 59 and Roosevelt road. Additionally I had a conversation with alderman Moreno about the trucks. He said the fines are expensive and he doesn’t believe trucks go down the road that often. Everyday there are several semi trucks that drive on the street eventhough there is a no truck sign on the road. If the police were to have a truck enforcement campaign they would have many tickets written. Hopefully that truck ban will be enforced

El año pasado me reuní con el jefe de policía, otros oficiales, y el sargento a cargo del tránsito para hablar sobre los camiones semirremolque que circulan por la calle Joliet, entre la Ruta 59 y la carretera Roosevelt. Además, tuve una conversación con el concejal Moreno sobre el tema. Él dijo que las multas son elevadas y que no cree que los camiones pasen por esa calle con frecuencia. Sin embargo, todos los días varios camiones semirremolque transitan por esa vía, a pesar de que hay un cartel que prohíbe su paso. Si la policía realizara una campaña de control enfocada en los camiones, se emitirían muchas multas. Ojalá que pronto se haga cumplir esa prohibición.
