Yes, the West Chicago Voice is laser-focused upon West Chicago but to think that life here exists in a bubble and none of us ever go outside of our hometown’s borders would be silly. The Voice vows to always cover news in West Chicago first, but it’s logical to think that sometimes news near our borders will spill over into WeGo, or that residents need to go outside to other communities for things like dining or entertainment. We will always give preferential treatment to West Chicago news, and after that, if there’s something cool we hear about close by or that our readers might enjoy, we’ll share that too.
Which brings us to the topic at hand! Sunday, August 27th is National Cinema Day. All across the USA, movie theaters will be offering tickets at just $4 each. For one day only, moviegoers will get the opportunity to watch or re-watch movies in theaters for one low ticket price. There’s nothing like a movie on a big screen, am I right?
If you haven’t seen Barbie or Oppenheimer, this is your chance to snag a great deal on movie tickets. This event was founded by the National Cinema Foundation. After it’s wildly successful launch in 2022, they’re back at it again for the second year. For more information visit the foundation’s site here. With inflation at an all-time high,and crazy high heat indices, residents are embracing this opportunity to see first run movies at yesterday’s prices in ice cold air conditioning.
Locally to West Chicago, there are two movie theaters that will be participating in this event offering discounted tickets: Classic Theaters Charlestowne by Classic Cinemas (St. Charles, Illinois) will be honoring the $4 for all movies at all times on Sunday-to view their movie schedule, visit their website here, and so will Cinemark AMC (Warrenville, Illinois) .
