Veteran’s Day Ceremony and Speaker:
Residents are invited to attend a ceremony in honor of Veteran’s Day on November 11th at 10:30 Am. The ceremony will take place at the American Legion (Each year the ceremony rotates between the American Legion and The V.F.W.) The featured speaker will be the Mayor of West Chicago, Ruben Pineda – come and join the community in thanking our Veterans and first responders. Rolling Thunder Chapter #1 will be conducting a remembrance ceremony.
New leaders recently announced:
The following individuals stepped into leadership roles to carry the American Legion into 2024. Paul Shankle (Commander), Kevin Driscoll (Senior Vice Commander), Tom Butkovich (Junior Vice Commander), Don Smith (Sargent at Arms and Chaplain), Bill Birch (Finance Officer, and Adjutant)
Taco Tuesdays:
The public is reminded they are invited on Tuesdays for Taco Tuesdays at the Legion. The event offers Tacos, Taco Platters with rice and beans, Chips, Salsa and Guacamole, in addition to Margaritas. The events run from 11am-8pm.
Toys for Tots:
The American Legion will be participating in the annual Marine Corps Reserves Toys for Tots campaign now until December. Please drop off unwrapped gift donations at the American Legion located at 123 Main St. in West Chicago. Use the rear entrance, a drop box is right inside the door.
Ceremonia del Día de los Veteranos y orador:
Los residentes están invitados a asistir a una ceremonia en honor al Día de los Veteranos el 11 de noviembre a las 10:30 am. La ceremonia se llevará a cabo en American Legion (Cada año la ceremonia rota entre American Legion y The V.F.W.) El orador destacado será el alcalde de West Chicago, Rubén Pineda; venga y únase a la comunidad para agradecer a nuestros veteranos y socorristas. Rolling Thunder Capítulo #1 llevará a cabo una ceremonia conmemorativa.

Martes de tacos:
Se recuerda al público que están invitados los martes a los Martes de Tacos en el Legion. El evento ofrece Tacos, Tacos con arroz y frijoles, Chips, Salsa y Guacamole, además de Margaritas. Los eventos se desarrollarán de 11 a 20 horas.
Juguetes para niños:
La Legión Estadounidense participará en la campaña anual Toys for Tots de las Reservas del Cuerpo de Marines desde ahora hasta diciembre. Deje las donaciones de regalo sin envolver en American Legion ubicada en 123 Main St. en West Chicago. Utilice la entrada trasera, hay un buzón justo dentro de la puerta.
