Sharing is Caring, WeGo!

West Chicago Community High School’s swim team member Brady Johnson has recently made waves in the swimming community with his exceptional talent and unwavering dedication. With a remarkable swimming journey that spans a decade, Brady’s passion for the sport began on the West Chicago Sharks club team. However, when the COVID-19 pandemic forced the closure of pools, Brady took a leap of faith and joined the FMC Aquatics National Team in Westmont, IL

Before I was a swimmer, I did baseball, basketball, and even karate. I wanted to start swimming because my sister did it and I wanted to follow in her footsteps and compete competitively. I first tried it out and my coaches said I was a natural. I then dropped my other sports and now swim full time, about three hours a day.”- Brady Johnson

Dreaming big, Brady aspires to compete at the Division 1 level and have the opportunity to represent his country in the Olympics. His determination is unmatched, aiming to be remembered as one of the greatest swimmers and one of the hardest-working athletes in the pool. Recognizing that success is earned through relentless training, Brady acknowledges that there will always be someone pushing boundaries and training harder, and he strives to be that person

His dedication and goal-setting have paid off, the swimmer is breaking records, and attaining amazing accomplishments.  He recently signed with the Arizona Sun Devils for swimming and he’ll be headed there in the fall.

His achievements not only bring pride to West Chicago Community High School but also solidify his status as a rising star in the swimming arena. Brady’s triumphs serve as an inspiration to his teammates and the wider community, showcasing the power of perseverance and hard work. As he continues to chase his dreams and reach for greatness, it is clear that Brady Johnson’s name will forever be etched in the annals of West Chicago’s swimming history.
