WCCHS Students Selected for ILMEA Music Festival
Nine students from West Chicago Community High School have been selected by audition for the 2023 Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) District 9 Honor Festival. This year, the festival will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Dundee Crown High School.
The students competed against over 1200 students in band, choir, and orchestra from DuPage, Kane, and parts
of Will and Kendall counties. The highly competitive auditions required students to prepare scales, etudes
and/or selected excerpts of music pieces. Auditions were conducted digitally and each student had to submit a
video. The entire state of Illinois is divided into only 9 districts and ours (District 9) is widely recognized as being extremely competitive.

From Winfield, (Avery Moffatt, senior, Alto 2), Gwenneth Nika (Choir, sophomore, Alto 1)
The students are under the direction of Brandon Fantozzi (choir), Marissa Janiszewski (band), and Sara Austin

Nueve estudiantes de West Chicago Community High School han sido seleccionados mediante una audición para el Festival de Honor del Distrito 9 de la Asociación de Educación Musical de Illinois (ILMEA) de 2023. Este año, el festival se llevará a cabo el sábado 11 de noviembre de 2023 en Dundee Crown High School.
