Alma Roberts, a beacon of friendliness, creativity, and wisdom, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2023, in Geneva, IL. Born on May 20, 1934, in the quaint German village of Lubomirka, Volhynia, Poland. Alma’s life was a tapestry of rich experiences and enduring relationships. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and the joy of lifelong learning. Alma’s early years laid the foundation for her creative pursuits. In the 1940s, she was educated at a trade school in Germany, where she honed her skills as a dressmaker. This period sparked a lifelong passion for creativity and set her on a path of diverse educational endeavors. In the 1970s and 1980s, she furthered her commitment to personal growth by becoming a certified health and fitness instructor. Her entrepreneurial spirit shone through when she opened her own women’s health and fitness studios. At these fitness centers, she inspired women to embrace their strength and well-being. In the late 1980s, she furthered her education in the field of safety and security. Alma’s dedication to her community was further exemplified in her years of service as a security guard, where she was known for her keen sense of responsibility and protective presence. Outside of her professional life, Alma was an embodiment of vitality and joy. Her love for the outdoors was evident through her avid gardening, cycling, and slalom skiing. She found rhythm and grace in Ballroom and Country Western dancing, activities that reflected her sociable and spirited character. Alma’s compassion extended to all living creatures, and she was a devoted animal lover, often found caring for and delighting in the company of her furry friends. Alma’s warmth and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter Caryn Hoeft and son-in-law Andrew Jaworski, and her son Matthew Roberts and daughter-in-law Jennifer. As we bid farewell to Alma, we remember a life lived with purpose, a heart that loved unconditionally, and a soul that inspired everyone she met. Her legacy is a reminder to approach life with enthusiasm, to nurture our talents, and to cherish the bonds we form along the way. Alma Roberts will be deeply missed, but her influence will continue to bloom in the lives of those she touched like the gardens she so lovingly tended.

A celebration of life will be held in Friendship Hall at GreenFields of Geneva, 0N801 Friendship Way, Geneva, IL. on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 1 to 4 in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite animal charity or shelter
