West Chicago Park District – Childcare at the ARC will be unavailable due to the inclement weather situation. Also closed is the District 33 Before and After School Programs. Dance Fitness Classes have been canceled for Today. The Park District’s Fitness Open House has been postponed and rescheduled for February 13. All other programming is continuing as usual.
DuPage Airport– A Handful of flights departed the airport this morning, however no flights are scheduled to land (according to the DuPage Airport Authority’s website)
O’Hare Airport – More than 700 flights have been canceled due to the inclement weather at O’Hare, check your flight before you leave home.
Com-Ed has announced that 8,600 customers who live in DuPage County are currently without power due to the storm, Note- It is unclear if any incorporated residents are without power, although some West Chicago (unincorporated) residents near the Carol Stream area are currently without power. Com-Ed is working fastidiously to restore power to the customers. From the Com-Ed outage map, it appears the unincorporated neighborhood of Lakewood (near Kline Creek Farm in Winfield) has 5 residents without electricity, 500 residents are also without electricity in Carol Stream, 468 residents in Winfield, and around 10 homes in Wheaton are affected.
Per ComEd: ComEd is increasing crews and necessary equipment and will be deployed to assess the damage and begin restoring power as soon as conditions are safe. Never approach a downed power line.
