Harvey A. Stout, age 91, longtime resident of West Chicago, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2024. He was born March 2, 1932, in Herrin, IL to Edward and Elsie Stout. At age 17, Harvey enlisted in the US Air Force and decided that wasn’t for him. He then moved up with his brother to northern Illinois where he met his future wife Alice Pester and was united in marriage on June 6, 1953. He worked in many different fields throughout his life which included a printer at Diamond National, a security guard at Fermilab and he really enjoyed driving a school bus during his retirement. Harvey had many interests; he loved horses and had had several trotting and racing horses. He was great at archery, attending many shoots in Wisconsin and was a member of Aurora land Archery and many fishing trips with his family in Canada. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Harvey is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Alice Stout; son, Kenneth (Becky) Stout; daughter-in-law, Diane Stout; grandchildren, Faith (Levi) Walker, Jennifer (Steven) Stout-Rondeau, George (Chrissi) Witkowski, J.D. (Katie) Witkowski, Matthew (Anne) Stout and Elizabeth (Ben) Tancl; great-grandchildren, Zoey, Liam, Chessa, Christopher, Conrad, Caleb, Gabriel, SarahAnne, Aubrey, Logan, Cooper, Mason, Hannah and Jakub; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Jeffrey, grandson, Joey; brothers and sisters, Esco, Nancy, Dora, Lillian, Tommy, and Harry.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago. A funeral service will begin at 7:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment Private.
