West Chicago Swimmer Brady Johnson Receives Citation at Dist. 94 School Board Meeting

The following Citation was presented at the April 16, 2024 Board of Education Meeting for senior, Brady Johnson:
WHEREAS, the Boys’ Swim Team at West Chicago High School recently completed the 2023 – 2024 IHSA season and State Championships; and
WHEREAS, Brady Christopher Johnson, a senior, was a four (4) year swimmer, and a three (3) year State Qualifier; and
WHEREAS, Brady Johnson compiled a record of 44 wins during his four (4) year swimming career at West Chicago High School and during the regular swim seasons; and
WHEREAS, Brady Johnson, in the 2023 State Championships at FMC Natatorium in Westmont, IL, took second place in the 50 yard Freestyle, and won first place – State Champion – in the 100 yard Backstroke, becoming the first Boys Swimming State Champion in school history; and
WHEREAS, Brady Johnson, on February 23, 2024 and in the 2024 State Championships at FMC Natatorium in Westmont, IL, in the preliminary round, set a new State record in the 100 yard Freestyle with a time of 43.15 seconds; and a new State record in the 100 yard Backstroke with a time of 46.65 seconds; and
WHEREAS, Brady Johnson, on February 24, 2024, and in the 2024 State Championships at FMC Natatorium in Westmont, IL, in the final round, won first place – State Champion – in both the 100 yard Freestyle, and the 100 yard Backstroke, becoming a back-to-back State Champion in the 100 yard Backstroke; and
WHEREAS, Brady Johnson achieved the highest level of achievement as a Swimmer; united and inspired the West Chicago High School administration, faculty, staff, students, and community; represented himself, his family, District 94, and the community with distinction and honor; and enhanced the name and reputation of West Chicago High School;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Education of Community High School District 94, does hereby commend Brady Christopher Johnson, and declares February 23 and 24, 2024 as Brady Christopher Johnson days.
