Isidora O. Ruiz (Ortega), age 92, longtime resident of West Chicago, passed away on May 11, 2024. She was born in Runge, Texas on April 4, 1932, to Cristino and Maria Luisa Ortega. Isidora was united in marriage in February 1956 to the late Francisco Ruiz. She loved watching wrestling, exploring garage sales, cutting hair and especially loved her family.Isidora is survived by her children, Dalia Suarez, Jesse (Patricia) Ruiz, Mary Christine (Carl) Cullotta and Joel Ruiz; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Elisa Palacios and Elibodia Rodriguez and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Francisco Ruiz in 1993, son Fred (Sue) Ruiz and 5 siblings.
Visitation Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. & Main Street) West Chicago. Funeral Service Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery in West Chicago. Contributions in Isidora’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
