Since ancient times, Summer Solstice traditions have included gathering with family and friends to celebrate the return of light, sunlight, life, fertility, and the potential for a good harvest. Today, people worldwide still celebrate summer’s arrival, or midsummer, with outdoor feasts and festivities, including singing, dancing, musical performances or concerts, bonfires, and enjoying delicious food and drinks.

Laura Fako Utley
Harpist
Laura received her degree in Music Performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at
Roosevelt University. She currently performs and teaches throughout the Chicagoland area playing with orchestras and small chamber ensembles for weddings, receptions, and special occasions. In 1997, Laura produced her first recording called, “Whispering Dreams” which consists of classical transcriptions and Laura’s own original compositions. In 2002, Laura produced her Christmas recording called “Silent Night.” Laura performs at Edward hospital in Naperville as part of their Healing Arts Program.

David has been a member of American Federation of Musicians since 1981 and has performed with Lyric Opera of Chicago, Ravinia Festival Orchestra, Grant Park Symphony Orchestra, Lake Forest Symphony, Concertante di Chicago, Illinois Philharmonic, Chicago Opera Theater, Elgin Symphony, Chicago Sinfonietta, Ars Viva, Music Under the Stars, Joffrey Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, American Ballet Theater, and many others. He has over 1500 performances in downtown Chicago musical theater venues in such productions as Miss Saigon, ShowBoat, Ragtime, Carousel, Evita, Les Miserables, Crazy for You, The Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story, and Beauty and the Beast.

Lisa Fako
Violinist
As a teenager Lisa performed as a soloist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestraafter winning their young artists competition. Since that time, Ms. Fako has performed at festivals including Tanglewood, Aspen, Strings in the Mountains, the Moab Music Festival, and the Bach Week Festival, as well as numerous chamber music recitals live on WFMT radio. A busy freelancer in Chicago, Ms. Fako performs regularly with the Chicago Philharmonic, as well as the Lyric Opera, The Elgin Symphony, and Broadway in Chicago.
