Olmec Trails: Culture & Legacy

Mexican Cultural Center DuPage, College of DuPage Prairies, DuPage County Forest Preserves, and trails throughout DuPage

“Olmec Trails” pays tribute to the indigenous roots of Mexican heritage as well as brings attention to the importance of public art by showcasing the immense talent and creativity of more than 30 contemporary artists from across North America. This ambitious exhibition provides access to the culture of Olmec civilization in a fresh and accessible way by featuring hand-painted large-scale renditions of these iconic Mesoamerican sculptures.

This Grown Up Art Summer Camp, featured on WGN Morning News, is a series of workshops scheduled on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. Workshops can be taken as stand-alone classes. Based on the nostalgia of summer camp these adult-geared workshops are a fun way to spend a few hours creating this summer.

Voyage en France

Cantigny

Join Cantigny for a day filled with French-inspired delights and cultural experiences! Throughout the park, enjoy photo stations and iconic sights including an Eiffel Tower replica. Indulge in the vibrant atmosphere of Moulin Rouge at the South Grove Beer Garden, featuring Can-Can dancers and Cabaret performances. For families, the Little Louvre Museum offers a chance to learn about renowned artists like Monet and Van Gogh, while creating art of your own. Engage in community art projects and savor French cuisine throughout the day amid street performers including accordion players and mimes.

 

There is a crown to be won, and the race to secure it begins July 20. Hundreds will participate. At the end, five will stand alone as Triple Crown champions.

A championship event within a major cycling series is the easiest way to describe the DuPage Triple Crown. It all starts with Chicago Grit — one of the most respected cycling events in the United States. 10 continuous days of racing occur in different Chicagoland communities, three of which are criterium races in DuPage County:
