West Chicago, IL— The West Chicago Community High School Wildcats varsity girls volleyball team is off to a challenging start this season. In their most recent non-conference home match on September 3rd, the Wildcats faced Bartlett, with the match results still pending final reporting. The Wildcats had an earlier close match against Wheaton North on August 27th, where they narrowly lost 2-1.
Despite these early setbacks, Head Coach Mackenzie Bell and Assistant Coach Carlye Fatum remain optimistic about the team’s potential this year. The Wildcats’ roster includes a mix of seasoned seniors and promising underclassmen. Senior middle hitters Emily Hanania and Lauren Dusing bring experience and strength to the front line, while junior outside hitters Taylor Frake and Molly Fehrenbach add versatility and power. The team’s defense is anchored by junior libero Gracie Perry, alongside senior defensive specialists Sofie Ventimilla and Mia Zapata.
