The West Chicago Community High School varsity football team secured a commanding 52-14 victory over Elmwood Park in Week 7, marking their second 50+ point game this season—an achievement not seen since at least 1996. The Wildcats’ explosive offense and tenacious defense were on full display as they overwhelmed their opponents on the road.
Offensive Powerhouse
Senior running back Robert Lee led the Wildcats’ offense, delivering an outstanding performance with 24 carries for 217 yards and 3 touchdowns, earning him Offensive Player of the Week honors. Junior quarterback Carter Naranjo contributed 75 yards on 8 carries and added a touchdown of his own. Senior wide receiver Tommy Doyle also made a significant impact, racking up 133 yards and 2 touchdowns on 6 carries, further fueling the Wildcats’ scoring surge.
Defensive Strength
On the defensive side, junior outside linebacker Roman Zolota played a crucial role, recording 6 tackles, 1 tackle for loss (TFL), and a pass breakup (PBU), earning him Defensive Player of the Week honors. Senior safety Tommy Murphy added 5.5 tackles, while junior defensive end Jayden Rosario tallied 3.5 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 TFL. Junior linebacker Trevor Sweeney also made his presence known with 4.5 tackles.
Special Teams and Scout Team
Dirk Ulbrich earned Special Teams Player of the Week recognition for his contributions, and the scout team was recognized for their hard work leading up to the game.
Historic Season
This victory solidified West Chicago’s historic season, with two games exceeding 50 points for the first time in decades. The Wildcats are showing tremendous growth and potential, with standout performances across the board as they continue to build momentum.
