WEST CHICAGO, IL – DuPage County Board member Greg Schwarze, a Democrat from Carol Stream, has successfully retained his seat representing District 6, which includes West Chicago. Schwarze, endorsed by the West Chicago Voice, won against Republican challenger Joe Soto, a Milton Township trustee from Winfield.
Unofficial results show Schwarze received 35,657 votes, while Soto garnered 33,487 votes. Throughout his campaign, Schwarze emphasized his commitment to addressing food insecurity, affordable housing, mental health, public safety, and senior citizen issues within DuPage County.
Soto, a trustee in Milton Township, ran on a platform that included fiscal responsibility and community support, but ultimately, Schwarze’s focus on social issues and public safety resonated more strongly with voters in District 6.
With this win, Schwarze will continue his efforts on the board to advance initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable populations and improving public services across the district.
