West Chicago resident Matt Myers has entered the race for 7th Ward Alderman, adding his name to the ballot for the April 2025 election.
Myers, the former owner of Cocoa Notes Bakeshop, is well known for his restoration of the Wiant House, a historic property in West Chicago. While he has since sold the bakery, he remains the owner of the Wiant House, which now houses a new bakery.
Myers joins a competitive race for the 7th Ward seat, which includes incumbent John Banas, as well as candidates Michael Flood and Mirza Baig.
The election will take place on April 1, 2025, giving voters the opportunity to select their representative for the 7th Ward on the West Chicago City Council.
