WEST CHICAGO — The Canadian National Railway (CN) will begin essential maintenance work on two key railroad crossings in West Chicago this month, temporarily closing both Church Street and Ann Street to traffic during the scheduled repairs.
According to city officials, the railroad crossing on Church Street will be closed from Monday, June 9 at 9:00 a.m. through Friday, June 13, weather permitting. During the closure, a posted detour will direct traffic around the site using Lyman, Ann, and Wood Streets.
Immediately following this project, CN will shift its repair operations to the Ann Street crossing, which is expected to close from Monday, June 16 at 9:00 a.m. through Friday, June 20, also weather permitting. The same detour route will be implemented during the Ann Street closure, but traffic will flow in the opposite direction.
Drivers are advised to follow posted detour signs and allow extra time when traveling through the area.
