Dorothy Raye Jackson was born on September 18, 1941, in Omaha, NE, the daughter of Ray and Louise Jackson. She passed away on June 7, 2025, with family by her side.

As a young girl, Dorothy lived in Oregon, California, New Mexico, Missouri and Holton, Kansas, where she met Leonard D. Kranz. The two married on September 12, 1957, and moved to Illinois in the 60s. They lived in Clarendon Hills, Berwyn, Weston and West Chicago. They later divorced in 1997.

Dorothy worked at Portable Tool in Geneva, Geneva Community Hospital, Delnor Hospital in St. Charles, and BPT Trucking, Eagle Foods, Karr Cleaners and Temprite all in West Chicago. She retired in August of 2001 and moved to Dolittle, MO, until 2021, where she worked part-time at Briggs and Stratton and later Missouri University of Science and Technology.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Barbara (George) Nicoloff of Jasper, TN, Kirstan VIcker of Temple, TX, Gary (Kelly) Kranz of Medaryville, IN, and Marilyn Kranz-Collins of Copperas Cove, TX; one sister, Peggy Wendt of Perry, KS; 10 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 step great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and a great-grandson, Christopher Kranz.

Private services will be held at a later date.
