On Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 1:22 p.m., West Chicago Police Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Hillview Avenue after receiving reports of an assault.
According to police, the victim, who had been sitting on a minibike at the Main Park Apartments while looking at his phone, was suddenly struck from behind with a skateboard. The impact caused the victim to drop his phone and fall to the ground, where he was then kicked in the stomach by the suspect.
By the time officers arrived, both the victim and the suspect had already left the 800 block of Main Street. The victim sustained injuries from the attack and was later taken to the hospital for medical treatment by a family member.
Police identified the suspect as 26-year-old Alejandro Valdez of West Chicago. He was located and transported to the West Chicago Police Station for questioning. After reviewing the case, the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office approved felony charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery in a public way.
The West Chicago Police Department reminds the community that an individual charged with a criminal offense is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, beyond a reasonable doubt.
Agresión con patineta en Main Park Apartments resulta en cargos por delito grave
El jueves 18 de septiembre de 2025, a la 1:22 p.m., oficiales de la Policía de West Chicago fueron enviados a la cuadra 900 de Hillview Avenue tras recibir reportes de una agresión.
Según la policía, la víctima, que se encontraba sentada en una minibicicleta en los apartamentos Main Park mientras miraba su teléfono, fue atacada por detrás con una patineta. El impacto hizo que la víctima soltara su teléfono y cayera al suelo, donde luego fue pateada en el estómago por el sospechoso.
Cuando los oficiales llegaron, tanto la víctima como el sospechoso ya habían salido de la cuadra 800 de Main Street. La víctima sufrió lesiones a causa del ataque y fue llevada al hospital por un familiar para recibir atención médica.
La policía identificó al sospechoso como Alejandro Valdez, de 26 años y residente de West Chicago. Fue localizado y trasladado a la estación de policía de West Chicago para ser interrogado. Tras revisar el caso, la Oficina del Fiscal del Estado del Condado de DuPage aprobó cargos por delitos graves de agresión con un arma mortal y agresión en la vía pública.
El Departamento de Policía de West Chicago recuerda a la comunidad que toda persona acusada de un delito es considerada inocente hasta que se demuestre su culpabilidad en un tribunal de justicia, más allá de toda duda razonable.
