Coaching staff from West Chicago Community High School provided the following recap and highlights regarding this past Friday’s varsity football game at South Elgin. The final score was South Elgin 56 to West Chicago’s 14 points. Although they did not get the W, they played hard and it was an exciting game.
Total Rushing Yards: 273 yards against South Elgin. The cats almost doubled last year’s rushing total (140 yards) against South Elgin.
Game Highlights:
- Running back, Vincent Muci had some energetic runs and finished the game with 149 yards rushing and 1 touchdown.
- Robert Lee ran for 54 yards and had a spectacular touchdown where he was lifted off his feet and still maintained his balance for an 11 yard score.
- Kicker, Nazir Krailiuk-An Ukrainian exchange student added two extra points after both touchdowns.
- Cornerback, Maha Aung rallied in the end zone with an interception to stop a touchdown
The freshman/sophmore football team were defeated 76-0
Looking ahead to Friday’s first home game, this could be an historic win as the Wildcats varsity has never beaten Bartlett High School. We look forward to the challenge.
