WCCHS Class of 1963 60th Reunion Details

The West Chicago Community High School Class of 1963 will hold its 60th Class Reunion on Friday-Saturday, September 29th-30th. There has been a block of rooms reserved at the Holiday Inn, 150 S. Gary Ave, Carol Stream.

The schedule for the reunion is as follows:

Friday, September 29th:

  • 3:00 pm – Gather in the restaurant within the Holiday Inn for a cash bar.
  • 5:00 pm – Migrate to the Marquee Room for hors d’oeuvres. 
  • 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm – A cocktail waiter/waitress will begin taking drink orders (cash is highly recommended)
  • 6:00 pm – A plated dinner will be served:

The reunion committee of Tom Aitken, Bill Nolan, Reid Simmons, and Carol Wells Huck requests that if you bring a digital camera, they’d like copies of your pictures for the class website.  After the reunion, they’ll post instructions for uploading your “reunion album”

The Planning Committee has nothing planned for ​Friday or for Saturday/Sunday mornings. However, it is West Chicago Community High School’s Homecoming weekend.  So, if you’re interested, here are a few suggestions :

  • Homecoming Week activities.   (Theme: Under The Sea/ Shipwreck)
  • Friday
    • 9:30am to 2:30pm – City Museum, 132 Main St, (630) 231-3376.
    • 12:00pm to 1:30pm – Food Fest.
    • 12:45pm to 1:30pm – Homecoming parade.
    • 2:00pm to 2:45pm – PowderPuff Game.
    • 5:30PM to 8:00pm – Alumni Tent, inside the stadium, will be open.
    • 6:00pm to 6:45pm – Tour of the high school’s new additions.  If you’re interested in this tour, contact Marc Wolfe at MWolfe@d94.org for a reservation and details.
    • 7:00pm – Kickoff for the Homecoming game. The new stadium is located  where our old practice field used to be, north of Ann Street between Wood St and the EJ&E/CN tracks.  Tickets can be purchased for $5.00 at the gate which is located in the southwest corner of the new stadium, on George St near the railroad tracks. 
      • A concession stand is next to the entrance gate.
      • The Alumni tent will be open until 8:00 p.m.  The tent should be located between the Stadium entrance and the home team bleachers.
  • Saturday
    • 9:30am to 3:30pm City Museum, 132 Main St, (630) 231-3376.
    • 11:00am – Kruse House Museum, 527 Main St, (630) 231-0564.​​
