Donna Marie Uplegger (nee Erickson), age 87, passed away on February 15th, 2024 in Naperville, Illinois. She was born September 7th, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois. Preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary Erickson, and her sister and brother in-law, Jamie and Richard Collins.
Donna devoted her life to her family. She was married in 1959 and moved to West Chicago, Illinois in 1968. She had 8 children: Michael (Julie), Patricia (Gary), Patrick (Julie). Kathleen (David), Donna (Charlie), Mary (Kevin), Charles (Cindy), and Maureen (Chris). Donna was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Donna had a diverse work history. Her passions included teaching second grade at St. Genevieve in Chicago and she spent many years at Frank’s Finer Foods in Winfield. Her outgoing personality helped her forge connections within her community. Donna ended her career at A.A.Conte in West Chicago.
Donna was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Chicago and the Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed spending time with friends, playing cards, going out, and loved a good book. Donna’s most cherished moments were spent with her children and grandchildren.
Services were held at DuPage Funeral Chapel, 951 W. Washington Street, West Chicago, Illinois 60185.
