Dr. Paulissen’s career continued with the Illinois Department of Public Health, first as Chief of the Bureau of Maternal and Child Health and then as Chief of the Division of Family Health. He was also the Director of the DuPage County Health Department and, after retirement, served as their Interim Medical Director.

He was a railroad enthusiast and enjoyed HO model railroading. Jim loved to travel and was a volunteer at Bridge Communities.
