WEST CHICAGO, IL – Democratic State Senator Karina Villa, a West Chicago native, has successfully retained her seat in Illinois’ 25th Legislative District. Villa, who was endorsed by the West Chicago Voice, secured victory over her Republican challenger and fellow West Chicago resident, Heather Brown, a current city council member.
With all precincts reporting, Villa garnered a total of 18,111 votes, surpassing Brown’s 14,982 votes. The final tally highlights Villa’s continued support within the district, allowing her to maintain her position in the Illinois Senate.
Villa’s reelection marks her continued dedication to representing the interests of her community in the 25th District, which covers parts of DuPage, Kane, and Kendall counties. During her previous term, she focused on issues including education, healthcare, and community development, which resonated strongly with her constituents.
Brown, a member of the West Chicago City Council, ran on a platform emphasizing fiscal responsibility and local government transparency. Despite a competitive race, Villa’s established track record and strong community support ultimately secured her victory.
