DuPage Senior Citizens Council (DSCC) proudly announces its achievement of receiving a SAGECare
Platinum Credential. This prestigious credential is a testament to DSCC ‘s unwavering commitment to providing an
inclusive and affirming environment for LGBTQ+ older adults.
SAGECare awarded DuPage Senior Citizens Council with its SAGECare Credential after a rigorous assessment of policies, practices, and staff training to create an inclusive and welcoming space for all residents, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
“We are proud to partner with SAGECare in our shared mission to improve the lives of seniors, including those part of the LGBTQ+ community,” said DSCC Executive Director, Marylin Krolak. “At DuPage Senior Citizens Council, we believe in fostering a community where everyone feels respected, valued, and celebrated for who they are. This platinum credential reaffirms our dedication to providing an inclusive environment that prioritizes the well-being of seniors.”
The SAGECare credential process evaluates senior living communities based on various criteria, including non-
discrimination policies, staff training on LGBTQ+ cultural competency, community engagement, and resident support services. By meeting and exceeding these standards, DSCC has demonstrated its commitment to promoting a diverse and supportive environment for LGBTQ+ seniors.
The DuPage Senior Citizens Council is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3), volunteer-driven organization, dedicated to helping seniors live with dignity. The DuPage Senior Citizens Council provides a variety of services for seniors, including Meals on Wheels, Senior Dining, Health and Wellness Education, Well-Being Checks, Pet Food & Assistance, Yard Clean-Ups, Social Connection Services, and Intergenerational Activities.
