Sharing is Caring, WeGo!

We had an absolutely shell-tastic time watching the new 2023 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie at Classic Theaters Charlestowne 18 in St. Charles. Not only were we thrilled to catch this highly anticipated film, but we also got to experience it on their awesome bargain movie day, Tuesday where all tickets, regardless of the show time, were just $5.

From start to finish, this movie delivered an action-packed, nostalgic adventure that kept me on the edge of my seat. The storyline was engaging, and the characters truly captured the spirit of the beloved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. It was a perfect blend of thrilling fight scenes, witty humor, and heartwarming moments that made me feel like I was a part of their cute little ninja turtle family.

The visual effects were simply mind-blowing. The CGI brought the turtles to life in the most realistic and impressive way, making each battle sequence a visually stunning spectacle. The fight choreography was top-notch, showcasing the turtles’ unique skills and teamwork in epic fashion.

The film immerses audiences in a world filled with dynamic characters and witty dialogue, bringing back the beloved heroes in a half shell in a way that both old fans and new ones will thoroughly enjoy.

While the absence of secondary characters like Casey Jones and Shredder may have left some fans disappointed, the film introduces exciting new characters, voiced brilliantly by Seth Rogen and John Cena. These additions bring a fresh and entertaining twist to the turtle’s world, injecting even more excitement into the narrative.

The plot, although not overly complex, serves its purpose well, placing the focus squarely on the turtles and their captivating interactions. The filmmakers masterfully maintain a light-hearted tone reminiscent of the original comics and animated series, evoking a sense of nostalgia that will warm the hearts of longtime fans. In addition, the well-timed humor throughout the film adds an extra layer of enjoyment, resulting in numerous laugh-out-loud moments that will delight viewers of all ages.

Sidenote, as a cautious parent, the movie is rated PG -I would just like to caution fellow parents regarding a few instances of the language used in the movie. Throughout the film, phrases like “What the hell” and “I’m pissed,” as well as the usage of the words “suck/sucks,” can be heard. While there isn’t any explicit swearing, it’s important to take this into consideration if you have young children. Additionally, there are instances of animated violence and green turtle blood that may be worth noting.

The cast delivered outstanding performances, truly immersing themselves in their respective turtle roles. Their chemistry and camaraderie were palpable, bringing warmth, humor, and a sense of unity that resonated with the audience. The voice acting was superb, breathing life into each character and adding depth to their personalities.

Overall, I highly recommend catching the new 2023 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie at Classic Theaters Charlestowne 18, especially on their bargain movie day. Check their movie dates/times here. With its thrilling action, heartfelt moments, and incredible visuals, it’s a cinematic adventure that fans of all ages will thoroughly enjoy. Cowabunga, dude!
