The West Chicago Public Library will host a holiday open house- December 1 between 5-8pm. All are welcome to attend. This year’s theme is An Enchanted Winter’s Evening. The library has been decorated, the weather is turning colder, and special guests are ready to come by. The West Chicago Community High School Choir has been practicing and preparing for the event. Now all they’re missing is some snow, and YOU. Please drop by the library on the evening of Friday, December 1st for a cozy good time with cookies, hot chocolate, and much more!
Event Schedule

- 5-8 pm in Youth Dept.: Gnome craft, woven Swedish Heart Basket craft, Gnome scavenger hunt, and carnival games including Gnome Bowling, Penguin Plinko, and a Candy Cane Relay Race. Walt Disney Studio’s hit film, Frozen, will also be playing in the department!
- 5-8 pm in Adult Dept.: Snowflake craft, and snowflake bookmarks!
- 5:30-6 pm: WCCHS Choir performs some seasonal favorites!
- 6-7:30 pm: Meet & Greet and photo opportunity with special guests!
- Snacks and hot chocolate will be available throughout the program!
Special Guests
The Snow Queen and her Sister from Fairytale Entertainment will be joining us for a special meet & greet to help celebrate the season! The Snow Queen and her Sister will be available for pictures and to meet patrons from 6:00-7:30 pm
Gnome Scavenger Hunt
Have you read the Winter Program Guide from the library yet? 26 little gnome friends have been hidden throughout the program guide. Kids can mark the gnomes and bring their guide to Youth Services for a prize! There will also be an in-person gnome scavenger hunt in the Youth Services Department during the holiday open house event. Start searching today.
