Raymond Lawrence Wallensack, 95, born September 5, 1928, he passed away peacefully into the hands of the Lord on February 22, 2024. Beloved husband of the late Mary C. (nee Barry) Wallensack; loving father of Kitty (Bruce) Weaver, Sheila (Steve) Sutherland, Mary Patricia (Michael) Klueber, and Timothy (Kathleen) Wallensack; proud grandfather of Kristen, Meghan, Colleen, Elizabeth, Alex, Andrew, Michael, Sarah, Samantha, and great-grandfather of Simon, Miles, and Bridget.
Ray’s life is best remembered by his endless devotion to his family, his faith and his business career.
After serving his country overseas in the Army during The Korean War, he came home and his life changed forever when he met his wife and lifelong partner, Mary. During their 53-year marriage, Ray and Mary raised their four children — Kitty, Sheila, Mary Pat and Tim — in Wheaton, always with the love, commitment and faith that grew from their dedication to each other.
Ray’s business career was characterized by his tireless work ethic rising from a “peddler” (Ray’s words) to the top executive ranks of Westlake Press.
Ray was a legendary storyteller often entertaining family, friends, business associates and sometimes perfect strangers with colorful renditions of his life. His humor and wit endeared him to many.
